update

quick update.

I’ve been posting semi-regular updates on my progress with nullstars on my bluesky page (see contact), and because of that I’ve been forgetting to post literally anything here. I’ll put more effort into that soon. quick run down of the latest stuff: I redid the lighting engine (renders like an order of magnitude faster now), the level loading system (loads levels using a custom file format, much much faster now), and am currently reworking the player’s movement code. it’s been a bit tricky rebalancing nova’s movement to feel fast without being overtly uncontrollable, but I’m getting a hang of it. I’ll post real details of my tribulations in the devlog whenever I get around to it. I’ve also been writing music, but that’s a whole other thing.

in terms of personal life things. this uni semester just ended! I didn’t do great. that’s all I want to say on that front lmao. otherwise, things are gonna get a little bit rocky, and I may go completely silent for a while, within the next few weeks. related: I need a job…
